Clear and Absolute
I was recently in a discussion with a colleague talking about goals.
My colleague used a phrase I had never considered before regarding goals —
clear and absolute.
I found that a fascinating phrase to describe goals.
Goals are to be clearly defined.
Think of a blueprint for a building.

A vage sketch maybe the starting point of an idea, but it is not until the idea is fully drawn out in full detail that the builders can start their work.
The same thing applies to our lives.
A vague generic statement such as wanting to find a partner who is good looking and kind could mean anything.
- What do you consider good looking?
- What do you consider kind?
The initial idea needs to be drawn out in detail and clearly defined.
This how we get clear on our goal.
Goals are also absolute.
This means they are not up for negotiation.
The goal is set and that is what you are working towards and will not be deviated from.
Strong stuff.

But if we are serious about our goals we need to be committed to them.
That changes the whole dynamic of the goal.
What about your goals?
- Are they clear and absolute?
- Do you even know what it is that you are aiming for?
- Are you committed to it seeing it fulfilled.
- Is it absolute — are you committed to it?
Just something to think about.
